Start Reading speed-reads your full text. Summarize with AI condenses it to the key points first, then speed-reads that.

Files are parsed in your browser. AI features send text to OpenAI for processing.

How to use it

  1. Paste an article, newsletter or notes into the box, or drop in a PDF, DOCX or TXT file.
  2. Click Start Reading. Words appear one at a time in a fixed spot.
  3. Set your speed with the slider, from 150 to 900 words per minute. Pause or skip back any time.

Not sure what speed to pick? Take the reading speed test and start at about 1.5 times your normal speed.

Why read one word at a time?

This method is called RSVP, short for rapid serial visual presentation. Normal reading means moving your eyes along each line and jumping to the next, and it's easy to drift back over words you've already read. RSVP shows each word in the same place, so your eyes stay still and the text sets a steady pace.

It isn't magic. You can't glance back at a word you missed, and understanding drops if you push the speed too high. It works best for articles, newsletters and reports you want to get through, not dense material you need to study. See how it works.

Free and Pro

You can read 3 texts free, with or without an account. Pro removes that limit, saves everything to your library so you can pick up where you left off, and adds AI summaries and key takeaways. See pricing.
